Technological sovereignty in the pharmaceutical field refers to the ability of a country or region to develop, produce and distribute medicines autonomously without relying on third parties from other countries. In practice, this is complicated and requires capacities in different areas: research, innovation, production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, intellectual property, policies and incentives, public-private collaboration and the capacity to train the necessary talent to make the whole system work.
The Covid19 pandemic highlighted the vulnerability of relying on external supplies and technologies.
The participants in this panel will discuss the role of their respective companies and their contributions and strategies to help the country gain technological sovereignty in this area.
