Biotechnology in Galicia

Galicia as a whole is firmly committed to biotechnology as a lever for economic, social and technological progress, with the Strategy for the Consolidation of the Galician Biotechnology Sector 2021-2025 as a central element for the structuring and organization of the biotechnology ecosystem around the productive business sector.

It is led by the Xunta de Galicia, through the Axencia Galega de Innovación and the Clúster Tecnolóxico Empresarial das Ciencias da Vida, BIOGA, and has its main focus on public-private collaboration. It has the support of the entire sector, which works synergistically and collaboratively to position Galicia as a Bioregion of international reference.

Galicia has a cutting-edge biotechnology industry, with leading international companies and innovative startups that develop cutting-edge products and services.
